PRAN - Gallery 221@HCC announces upcoming exhibition: Jezabeth Roca Gonzalez: Fabrication of Self exhibition with Artist Reception the next Wednesday, October 10, 5-8pm.

Fabrication of Self is a community-engaged sculptural installation by Jezabeth Roca Gonzalez. In this ongoing project, the artist layers fabricated narratives and a growing house structure informed by her own experiences witnessing the devastating impact of hurricane Maria on the island of Puerto Rico in 2017. The installation touches on concepts of displacement, trauma, family dynamics, and healing, while also critically examining the decline of political care over the island in recent years. Gonzalez is a Puerto Rican artist living in Tampa, FL and a current MFA candidate at the University of South Florida.
